Lyons Straight Burnisher

E C Lyons straight burnishers are made from polished high grade carbon tool steel mounted in a 10cm wooden handle. Burnishers are used to polish areas on copper or zinc intaglio plates, bringing tone to an image and smoothing out filed edges. Burnishers are also used in jewellery making to set stones and polish metals. Burnishers may be cleaned and polished with emery cloth or paper as needed.
