Preparing the plate ready to accept your image is an extremely important process and essential to a successful plate.

Acid resistant materials that are applied to the plate to prevent acids from ‘biting’ the plate.

Bitumous stopout is fast drying and can be applied with a fine brush to preserve detail.

Bitumous paint tends to be thicker and can flake off - recommended for protecting the back of uncoated plates.
