PLATES
We supply18 gauge copper and zinc plates in standard and also with photo-sensitive coatings. Each plate has an acid resistant coating on one side and protective peel back plastic on the other. These plates are available in various sizes, and we are able to cut to a specific size if required. A small charge will apply.
Zinc 1.2mm
Zinc is generally etched in nitric acid, however ferric chloride may be used.

Copper 1.2mm
Copper is usually etched face down in Ferric Cholride as it tends to form deposits of iron oxide in the etched lines. Etching face down enables these deposits to fall to the bottom of the bath.

Pre-sensitized Copper and Zinc
All pre-sensitized copper and zinc plates are now coated with Hydro-Coat. It is environmentally friendly and works in the familiar way. It develops quickly in about 45 seconds and the images adheres well to the plate. Non-image areas wash away cleanly leaving a high quality photo gravure finish. Plates are back coated with acid proof paint. Develop with Hydro-Coat Aqueous Developer or make your own following the instructions on our Hydro-Coat Development Information Sheet.

Torelief Solar Plates WS95HY3
Torelief Solar Plates WS95HY3. The recommended plate for consistant work for both Intaglio & Relief printing. Solar Plates should be stored at room temperature. Avoid conditions of extreme heat and humidity. Torelief plates give a more pitted finish, leaving plate tone. Unexposed plates are green in colour.
